Beauty: Caring for Sunburns
By Ashley
Hintze
We all know the importance of skin care, and to practice
sunburn prevention before heading outdoors, especially during this hot
season. But stuff happens-you're outside longer than planned, the
sunscreen wears off, and the next thing you know, you look like a tomato.
But these expert tips, products, and at home remedies are sure to soothe your
sun woes! Abreea Bath Teas One of my personal
favorites, the Enlivening Abreea bath tea is cooling, refreshing and
rejuvenating, especially to a sunburnt body! These homemade bath teas
contain high quality natural nutrients that will relieve a sunburn safely and
efficiently! http://sonlightgirl.org/Abreea.html (Check out the
9 other Abreea Bath Teas!) Cold Compresses: Apply cool, wet
compresses to the burned area whenever you feel you need relief from the
heat. For extra relief, soak the compresses in peppermint tea or green
tea.
Aloe Vera One of the best remedy's for a burn
is aloe vera. Keep a plant in your home to treat minor burns or
irritations. Just squeeze the gel like substance directly from the leaves
and apply to the burned or irritated area. Aloe Vera is great because it
has both anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, so it's cool and
refreshing on your sunburn! No aloe plant in sight? Aloe gel is
available at the store. It just isn't as good as the real
thing. Soak and Soothe: Take a refreshing bath with
Epsom salt. According to the Epsom Salt Council, start with one cup of
Epsom salt and pour boiling water into it, so that it dissolves first.
Then pour the solution into a warm bath. Soak for 15-20
minutes. Moisturize: Apply a gentle moisturizer to your
skin. While it won't completely relive the pain of the burn, it will help
return your skin to normal levels of moisture.
Good ole'
H20 Water, can help replenish your body! Drink lots of it
because the body gets dehydrated with sunburn! Drinking plenty of water
keeps you hydrated, which can ease the pain of a
sunburn. Ashley Hintze is a cosmology
